Exterior Underdrain System
Yard/Lot erosion problems are experienced by many homeowners, particularly where the ground surface slopes, heavy
foot traffic, or shaded, unvegetated areas are involved. The advantage or an underdrain system is that it will remove
water which would otherwise pool in these areas. A major source of standing water comes from water passing through
roof rain gutters. A functioning lot drainage system connected to downspouts and drains will help to conduct the water
away from the house and directly into an acceptable drainage area, or directly to the storm sewer system. Neglected
moisture and water problems in and around dwellings can produce conditions that support mildew growth around and
within the house, and wood destroying fungus that can attack structural members or any exterior wood elements.
Good management of surface water and moisture can prevent these conditions.
